Human Safaris: When Does Tourism Become Unethical? | Truthout

i couldn't agree more! and this is coming from a u.s. citizen living in costa rica, the hipster/burner (burning man goer) of latin america where not much is sacred and eco-tours abound. i've seen through the eco-friendly facade from the painful site of plastic debris virtually everywhere i look, rivers reeking of sewage, and i've yet to see a single prius, but I've seen a handful of hummers. granted, i'm currently living in the capital but i have no doubt observed the disconnect between eco-tourism and eco-consciousness around the country.
