i was thinking about this film yesterday when returning to seattle...why?! because in my experience seattle is one of the most "purebred" happy places i've been to. shit is disgusting on so many levels (i.e. eugenics, high rates of congenital disorders/defects, etc.).

i'm not even 20 pages into his book (after seeing this aired almost a year ago) and i am truly connecting w/his words. "make a list of the loudest or most prevalent noise sources in our world: airplanes, automobile traffic, weaponry, power tools, 'thrillcraft.' Almost every one of them has to do with reducing (or 'killing') time, space, or labor." i'm seriously sick (psychologically and physically when you consider how noise affects rest and true peace of mind) of all the noise that is so much a part of the loud world we live in (city life in particular). "to say that you want to live in a less noisy world, and to say it with any depth of conviction, is in essence to say that you'd like to have your body back."

so much to say about this sickening phenomenon!! first off, puppy mills and breeders are thoroughly disgusting and unethical--look into it! in-order to impregnate a female dog she is raped! there is absolutely no way a human can determine a female dog's consent to being captive, perpetually raped until she is no longer of value to her master, and to auction off her babies to fucking self-centered, selfish, and ignorant humans! if you feel so inclined to own someone else why not at least rescue one of the seemingly infinite supply of dogs that have been abandoned by people just like you.
